This project was carried out on my own property on the outskirts of Colchester. After obtaining planning permission I set about stripping out the redundant building to a shell.
I designed the interior with a good friend and began constructing the interior and exterior in my spare time. The work and finish is to a high standard and complies with all building regulations. The feel that I wanted to create for my guests was one of homeliness with a modern look, which I felt would appeal to young and old alike.
I handmade a lot of the interior features including a 5-metre wall unit which included book shelving, storage, TV space and two single concealed drop-down beds. The building has oak floors throughout and handmade fitted wardrobes. I enjoyed the construction process and now I have visitors come to stay from around the world. A great use of a redundant building.
